Faithfully Pulling Weeds

Bright, colorful garden of different flowers and a wooden fence

The other morning I was outside pulling weeds,

It wasn’t glamorous work, instead a simple deed.

No one noticed, no applause, no grand display,

Just quiet work on an ordinary summer day.

As I worked it struck me deep inside,

Life grows gardens far and wide.

Kindness blooms where patience leads,

Love is planted through little seeds.

Neglect the weeds and they will spread,

‘Pull them early,’ my dad always said.

Bitterness, pride and hurried pace,

Can crowd out joy and leave no space.

What I have learned is that flourishing lives are rarely grown

By giant acts and gestures alone.

But by faithfully pulling weeds,

And tending to the smallest deeds.

For it’s in the quiet, everyday care,

The little acts of love we choose to share.

The seeds take root and begin to bloom,

And beautiful flowers fill the room. 🌸🌼🌺
